What we offer

New Living Health Care Services LLC is a DC licensed provider of both behavioral health services and supportive services. We were awarded and certified by the Department of Behavioral Health to provide the following core services in the District of Columbia.

Core service

Diagnostic Assessment

Usually the first step

A clinician shaking hands with a patient at the start of an appointment

We perform an intensive diagnostic assessment that includes clinical and functional consideration of the consumer’s general physical, developmental, family, social, psychiatric, and psychological history, alongside their prevailing conditions.

The result is a Diagnostic/Assessment Report. It sets out strengths as well as vulnerabilities, identifies which behavioral health services the consumer needs, and establishes whether they qualify for and can benefit from Mental Health Rehabilitation Services (MHRS).

What this means for you: one appointment where somebody listens properly and writes down the whole picture — so you don’t have to retell your story to every new person you meet.

Core service

Medication & Somatic Treatment

Blood pressure monitor, thermometer, and stethoscope laid out ready for use

Our qualified staff perform medical interventions including physical examinations; prescription, supervision, and administration of behavioral health related medications; and the monitoring and interpretation of laboratory diagnostic results connected to those medications.

We provide the medical interventions needed for treatment to work. Our clinical team are committed to improving the lives of people living with behavioral illness, and they take medication safety seriously — side effects, interactions, and how a medication actually fits your life.

What this means for you: a prescriber who knows your history, checks in, and adjusts — rather than a script you collect and then manage alone.

Core service

Counseling

A support worker and an older man laughing together over a photo album at home

We provide individual, group, and family face-to-face counseling for symptom and behavioral management; for the development, restoration, or enhancement of adaptive behavior and skills; and for maintaining daily living skills.

The focus of these services and supports is the wellbeing and benefit of the consumer. Sessions can involve the people around you where that helps — a partner, a parent, an adult child — because recovery rarely happens in isolation.

What this means for you: regular, protected time with a therapist, in a format that suits you.

Core service

Community Support Services

Often delivered at home

Community Support Services are an array of community-based supports for individuals and families. These supports make a measurable difference in the lives of people living with severe and persistent behavioral illness.

They are designed to help consumers succeed in the community and to reduce the risk of hospitalization, and they are frequently coordinated with therapy or other outpatient services. In practice a Community Support Worker helps with the things that decide whether treatment holds: getting to appointments, keeping housing, sorting benefits, managing a routine, rebuilding a social life.

Coverage: Medicaid or private insurers may pay for these community services for eligible recipients.
